Zeekr celebrates five years globally with UAE track event and 9X preview

Zeekr UAE and AW Rostamani Automotive marked the brand’s fifth anniversary globally and second year in the UAE by hosting a special Zeekr Dynamic track day at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. The event brought together more than 200 Zeekr owners, media representatives and automotive influencers for a day of high-performance driving activities, while also offering an exclusive preview of the upcoming Zeekr 9X flagship SUV.

Owners take over Yas Marina Circuit

The Zeekr Dynamic programme serves as the brand’s global track-day platform, designed to engage owners and strengthen the growing Zeekr community. During the event, participants had access to the full Grand Prix circuit layout at Yas Marina Circuit, alongside drag racing demonstrations and drift ride-along experiences.

Owners were divided into groups and rotated through multiple activity zones, allowing them to experience different aspects of the brand’s performance-focused lineup. The day concluded with a parade lap featuring Zeekr owners driving together around the circuit before a celebratory dinner. 

Zeekr 9X makes first UAE appearance

The highlight of the event was the first UAE preview of the all-new Zeekr 9X. Positioned as the brand’s flagship full-size luxury SUV, the model combines electrification, performance and advanced technology.

According to Zeekr, the 9X is the world’s first luxury super-hybrid built on a pure electric platform. It delivers more than 1,400 hp and offers a claimed combined driving range exceeding 1,250 km. Fast-charging capability allows the battery to charge from 20% to 80% in approximately nine minutes. 

The exterior features a large integrated grille, a clamshell hood design, yacht-inspired roofline and the company’s SEA Star Diamond lighting system. The SUV is expected to become the flagship of Zeekr’s growing global lineup. 

Luxury cabin with AI-powered technology

Inside, the Zeekr 9X introduces the company’s AI OS operating system, displayed through a 16-inch central touchscreen and an additional passenger display. The system integrates navigation, entertainment and vehicle controls while supporting voice commands throughout the cabin. 

The SUV also features advanced driver assistance systems supported by multiple cameras and radar sensors. Luxury appointments include Nappa leather upholstery, natural wood trim, a suede headliner, ambient lighting and a 32-speaker Naim Signature audio system. Three rows of seating are offered, with Zeekr’s new Floating Cloud seats providing functions such as massage, recline, swivel and zero-gravity modes. 

Performance remains a core focus

Performance demonstrations formed a major part of the event, with the Zeekr 9X participating in drag strip runs against a range of high-performance vehicles. Zeekr used the opportunity to showcase the capabilities of its new flagship and reinforce its performance-oriented image despite the SUV’s size and luxury positioning. 

Meanwhile, attendees were also able to experience the Zeekr 7X on track, including professional drift ride-along sessions. 

Global growth continues

Founded in 2021 under the Geely Holding Group, Zeekr has grown rapidly over the past five years. The company says it has delivered more than 800,000 vehicles worldwide and now operates in over 40 global markets. Its model range currently includes the 001, 009, X, 007, 7X, MIX, 009 Grand, 7GT and the newly revealed 9X. 

The Zeekr 9X is expected to arrive in the UAE later in 2026. Pre-bookings have already opened through Zeekr UAE channels, while media test drives are planned through the AW Rostamani Automotive dealer network.
