Despite being a massively preposterous idea, 6-wheeled behemoths of the car world have gained popularity as limited-edition publicity stunts, even with their price tags blown up beyond the horizon. Now to accompany the Mercedes AMG G63 6X6 and the Hennessey Velociraptor 6X6, a yacht company named T.Fotiadis Design has released a 6-wheeled Range Rover SLT model which aims to spice up the “boring” ride.
The Mercedes AMG GT line-up has been growing ever since the first model debuted and caused a stir in the sports car world. But as the years go by, the range is getting diluted, not least of which is by the E-Class-based “four-door coupe.” Customers who wanted a convertible GT still got the real SLS-based chassis, but were confined to the fast AMG GT Roadster or the slightly faster AMG GT C. Now though, they get another one to pick from. Mercedes-Benz slots a new 2019 AMG GT-S Roadster between the standard GT and the GT C.
In its fourth generation, Audi’s flagship model,the A8, is presented with a new design language, a touchscreen operating concept and a systematically electrified drive. The Audi A8 is also the first production automobile in the world to have been developed for conditionally automated driving. Audi will gradually be taking piloted driving functions such as parking pilot, garage pilot and traffic jam pilot into production for the Middle East market once the laws allow for it in this region.

Hard to believe, but our 2008 Jaguar XK is a decade old now. I’d say we’ve kept it cleaner than most, even though we simply park it outside all the time and service it once a year. Real premium cars (not the rebadged stuff from mainstream carmakers) are generally built with better materials, so they last longer in terms of trim and leather (but not always mechanically). However, our Jag needed a bit of care to keep it looking fresh.
Hot hatches are a magical blend of useable performance and practicality. Their popularity has led manufacturers to come up with hot variants of their different hatchbacks. VW, for instance, had several hot variants of their Polo and larger Golf hatchbacks. And now, they’ve slotted a new hot version under them and this time, it’s their puny little Up! hatchback that gets the treatment.

Building a luxury car brand is hard. It’s even harder when you’re trying to reinvent an existing brand as a luxury contender. Volvo used to be a purveyor of safe automobiles, slightly premium in price due to their Swedish sourcing. Some thought that the Chinese buying out the carmaker would be a bad thing. But things couldn’t be better once Volvo left previous-keeper Ford’s shadow. Starting with the all-new XC90 a few years ago, Volvo’s offerings have become premium enough to compete with the best that Germany has to offer. When it was first launched here though, the XC90 only came in T6 guise,
