Video of the week: Lamborghini Gallardo drifting on dirt roads
Someone decided to do some rallying with a Lamborghini Gallardo. On dirt. On video.

So it was the usual monotonous evening when the big daddy of DriveArabia rang up to “offer” me something that I had least expected to come my way, before the world ended — to test drive a Lamborghini Gallardo, that too, on a racetrack. I was truly surprised, as much as he was by the friendly gesture from the Lamborghini dealers in Dubai, for the opportunity to briefly take the wheel of the luxury supercar manufacturer’s entry-level offering, the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 550-2.
The highly-exclusive Lamborghini Veneno has finally been revealed and will be on show at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. Only three will be made. Named after a famous bull, the Veneno was designed to celebrate the Italian supercar-maker’s 50th anniversary, and is priced at €3 million each.
Lamborghini is planning to celebrate its 50th anniversary by releasing a special limited-edition model. Lamborghini’s CEO Stephan Winkelmann had previously indicated it won’t be a new model or a revival of an old model. True enough, it will be the Lamborghini Aventador LP720-4, set to debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.
The new 2013 Lamborghini Aventador Roadster was officially released. Unlike the fabric roof in the Murcielago Roadster, it features a hard top, which weighs less than 6 kgs and can apparently be removed by hand in just a few seconds.
So if you thought that the crazy automobile recall saga had ended, you were wrong. Since our last post on the recalls earlier this year, there were an insane amount of recalls that followed, from almost every car manufacturer in the world you can ever think of, almost all of them being issued following instructions from the U.S.-based NHTSA agency. And we could not bother to post each recall issue as a separate story, the task being as equally tedious as the reader-response to these. Here are all the recalls that could potentially be relevant to our region since April 2012.
The revised 2013 Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 and LP 570-4 with the new optional EdizioneTecnica made its worldwide premiere at the 2012 Paris Motor Show.
Mansory have taken the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4, draped it in carbon-fibre, tweaked its mechanicals and are calling it the Carbonado.
Lamborghini has finally decided to build an SUV, having recently dabbled in building a sedan previously that never went beyond the concept stage. The funny-sounding Lamborghini Urus is only a 4×4 concept for now, but is largely expected to make it into production.
The “viral” video that shows the Nissan Juke-R in action is finally out. Seen here “street-racing” with a Ferrari, a Lamborghini and a Mercedes-Benz, the filming took place at the Dubai International Marine Club, around a closed course. It is easy to guess which car “won” the “race” and why we are using a lot of “quotation marks” in this piece.
