While Spain defeated Holland in the FIFA World Cup, Mark Webber dominated this weekend’s British Grand Prix from the start, rebuilding his lead after a safety-car period that allowed team mate Sebastian Vettel to get back in the game after a disastrous first corner had seen the German go off track after a light brush with McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton. Mark Webber drove the race of his life in Barcelona on Sunday afternoon, leaving Red Bull team mate Sebastian Vettel behind on the way to the third Grand Prix victory of his career. The Australian won the Spanish F1 Grand Prix race to the first corner as Vettel tucked into second place ahead of McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso, and steadily set the pace as he pulled away.

Jenson Button went into the Brazilian Grand Prix looking for a miracle. And he found it. After 60 of the 71 laps, as Mark Webber swept to a dominant victory for Red Bull ahead of BMW Sauber’s Robert Kubica and a fighting Lewis Hamilton, he had done enough. And a late puncture for Brawn GP team mate Rubens Barrichello, which elevated him to fifth, was merely the icing on the cake.
