Recently Maserati held a media drive event in Dubai to highlight their latest addition, the midsize Ghibli sedan. This is our very first encounter with the Maserati brand. The closest we’d come before that was a tour of their shared pre-owned showroom. Then there was the time we had the sudden urge to pick up a used Quattroporte, but it wasn’t a compelling-enough car to make us follow through on that urge. And now here we are, trying out the redesigned Quattroporte, and wondering how compelling the new model is.

New Maserati Quattroporte 2013 revealed


Celebrating 50 years of the Quattroporte, Maserati has gone ahead and revealed the new 2013 model before the confirmed Detroit auto show debut. Even though details are still sketchy on the powertrain this gorgeous vehicle will carry, Maserati claims the engines will be more powerful and eco-friendly than ever before. Jointly developed and designed with Ferrari, the engines will be produced at the Ferrari Maranello plant in Italy.
