Given all the historically significant nameplates in VW’s stable, the Teramont is a relatively new addition to the Volkswagen family, and their largest SUV model. Known as Atlas in the United States where it is built and manufactured, this vehicle originally debuted in 2018. Unmistakably sharing DNA with the Volkswagen family, both in terms of style and mechanicals, seems odd that it took so long for VW to jump into this segment.

Ras Al Khaimah recently unveiled what they’ve dubbed the Middle East’s first-ever Go-Karting facility to be set up inside a mall, if you don’t count the one in Jeddah. Go-K, a 10,000 square-feet drift go-karting circuit, opened in RAK Mall.

We are in the latter camp, and we were interested to see what Porsche had cooked up for the compact crossover segment, with the all-new Macan.

The 2014 Nissan Patrol had its official launch in the UAE, with an event in Ras Al Khaimah. The facelifted model isn’t far removed from the outgoing version, and as such retains its offroad capabilities.

We didn’t explore its off-roading credentials at the time beyond mountain-driving, but since it is a reskinned Nissan Patrol after all, Infiniti wanted us to do more with it this time around.
Strict new rules for UAE national day car decorations
The UAE Ministry of Interior has issued guidelines regarding car decorations for UAE national day celebrations on December 2. Penalties include one-month car impoundment, a Dhs 2,000 fine and 12 black points.
First drive: Lexus LS 460 2013 in the UAE
As I’m flying over Dubai and Sharjah towards Ras Al Khaimah in a Bell 412 crammed in with 13 other people, I am thinking that helicopter travel isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be. The flight is noisy, tight and industrial, completely at odds with the “luxury” experience we were supposed to be having. But damn is it quick. We reached our destination in only 20 minutes, landing at the Banyan Tree resort at the northern tip of the Emirates, having enjoyed a great view and not feeling fatigued at all for the 2013 Lexus LS launch event.
