The Mercedes-Benz SLK has been facelifted for the 2009 model year (or 2008, as they say in European markets). The tweaks include a front end in the style of an F1 car, while the rear gets edged tailpipes and a new bumper. The 2009 model also gets an updated interior with a new instrument panel design. Two new engines also join the line-up.

The two new heavily-revised engines which join the carryover AMG 5.5-litre V8 are a revised supercharged 4-cylinder producing 184 hp and 249 Nm of torque and a new 3.5-litre V6 producing 305 hp and 360 Nm of torque. Both engines also get better fuel economy and emit less pollutants. Transmission options include a five-speed automatic, a six-speed manual and a seven-speed automatic, depending on model.

There is also some sort of optional new all-mechanical variable steering system, as well as Bluetooth, iPod integration and voice-activated controls for the nav system.

Well, good for you. My friend Imran says he is sure he timed his older Corolla automatic at 6 seconds. Hats off to Imran!

:) I’m going to ask for the new Accord and Altima during January.

Hey mash the weight of landcruiser V6 A/T is 1460kg, not 1590kg as you sayd in the buyer guide, so it has to be faster than 12.8 to hit 100km/h
