2014 Mazda 3 officially revealed

Mazda 3 9
The new Mazda 3 has officially been revealed by the Japanese outfit. It is going to be 61 mm longer in length and 50 mm shorter in height than the previous generation.

The exterior follows the company’s new “KODO design language”, which makes it look much more attractive than the outgoing model. They’ve conveniently left out the front number-plate in the photos, as it would mess up the stylised grille.

A lot of high-strength steel has been used to make the new chassis, making it 30% more stiffer and 90 kg lighter than the 2013 Mazda 3. Inside, there is a new Active Driving Display to view car-related information and navigation instructions easily in the line of sight.

Under the hood, two engines are being offered. There is the 2.0-litre 4-cylinder engine which produces about 155 hp and 203 Nm of torque. The other is the 2.5-litre 4-cylinder engine which produces 184 hp and 250 Nm of torque. It is not yet known which engines will be offered here in the Middle East.

Expect the 2014 Mazda 3 to be revealed in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other GCC countries before the end of the year.

Keep track of the latest prices and updates in the Mazda 3 buyer guide.

  1. 61mm longer and 50mm shorter? So 11mm longer?

  2. In the front you can clearly see the two screws below the logo on the grill for the number plate.

  3. So nice. Mazda rocks with the new models.

  4. This model will beat the corolla and civic or at least give them a tough time. With 2.0L 155hp its more powerful than both cars.

  5. Beautiful….

  6. so mazda does not have 1.6 engine cars anymore?

  7. Mazda 3 is the best driver’s car this side of the BMW 3 series. And this one surely rocks.

  8. omg is it finally happening!! tell me its real. mazda middle east is getting rid of that stupid 90’s technology 1.6l engine. its a miracle.

    • They may bring a 1.6L engine here to compete with the price.
I doubt that the base model will be the 2.0L engine.
      Let us wait to see,

    • to be honest i love mazda but not the one in here coz they only think of their profit. selling outdated virgins of their cars extremely expensive. and they just dont care of what customers really want they never bring mazad speed here or rx8 or so meany other models just beacons they dont want to reduce their prices on other models the new mazda 6 2.5 full option with navigation and everything in usa with tax cost 90000dhs and the model they sell here as full option is only 80000 there wich they sell over 100000.

    • Its not possible to use 1.6L old engine in this new model. The reason is mazda recently used “SKYACTIV” technologies in all new models. So currently they didnt built 1.6L skyactiv engine, the least they have 1.3L skyactiv which is not posibble to use on this model. But who knows mazda built new 1.6L skyctiv engine to middle east cars and then GALADARI will be the first one to bring those models. 🙁

  9. 2.5 ltr 184bhp won’t be coming over here. It is same as mazda6 having. But right pricing & proper marketing can do wonders.

  10. everyone likes mazda3 but at the end they buy 2014 carolla

    • The new Corrolla is quite nice and a good car too.
      Don’t under estimate the Corrolla.
I think both cars will sell well.

  11. I want to buy mazda 3 2014. when is it available?

  12. Mazda’s are not good cars. They are not very reliable I have just spent around 11 thousand dirhams in repairs on a 2009 mazda 6 full option car. My car has around 188 thousand kilometers but still it shouldn’t have such a hefty repair bill to replace bushings and stabilizer mounts and crap. The suspension is very complex and not reliable for the roads of UAE. They are very expensive to maintain and not worth the trouble. Parts and labor is not cheap on Mazda better to get the new Corolla or the 2014 Yaris, much better cars in my opinion.

  13. @Sal,

It always depend on how you use it.
