Toyota UAE turns showroom fleet into community support initiative
Toyota’s UAE distributor, Al-Futtaim Toyota, introduced a community-focused initiative during Ramadan that shifted attention away from traditional showroom promotions toward supporting charitable activities across the country.
Branded under its “Driven by Heart” positioning, the initiative saw showroom display vehicles temporarily removed and made available to members of the public engaged in volunteer and charity work. Instead of occupying showroom space, models like the Toyota Land Cruiser and Toyota Land Cruiser Prado were deployed across the UAE to assist with transportation needs for community-driven efforts.
Toyota showroom concept highlights real-world impact
To communicate the idea to visitors, Al-Futtaim Toyota displayed an empty Perspex box within the showroom, symbolising the absence of a vehicle that would otherwise be on display. A QR code linked visitors to the Driven by Heart portal, allowing volunteers to request access to Toyota vehicles for charitable use during the Holy Month.
According to Katib Belkhodja, Marketing Director at Al-Futtaim Toyota, the initiative aimed to go beyond conventional Ramadan offers by enabling mobility for those carrying out meaningful work in the community.
Supporting charities across the UAE
One of the organisations supported through the campaign was The Giving Family, a volunteer-led group founded by Fadie Musallet along with Zehra Rizvi and Sabrina Rabhi. The organisation, supported by over 5,000 volunteers, has distributed more than one million meals to labour workers and assisted families and individuals in need across the UAE.
Through the initiative, Toyota vehicles were used to transport donated goods such as clothing, household items, and toys from collection points in Al Quoz to charity partners including Tarahum Foundation for distribution.
Mobility support extends to animal welfare
The campaign also extended to individual volunteers, including Dina Taji, who runs the rescue initiative Dubai Street Kitties. She utilised a Land Cruiser to carry out rescue operations for stray and abandoned cats across Dubai.
Toyota fleet deployed from Dubai Festival City showroom
All vehicles used in the initiative were sourced from the Toyota showroom at Dubai Festival City. While the Ramadan campaign has now concluded, the initiative highlighted how automotive resources can be repurposed to support community efforts beyond conventional sales activities.
