MG Motor launches new MG GT in the Middle East
MG Motor has introduced the updated MG GT across the Middle East, bringing a sharper design, revised powertrain options, and a more premium interior package. The new model builds on the popularity of its predecessor while targeting younger buyers looking for an affordable sedan with sporty looks.
Design and exterior updates
The updated MG GT adopts a more aggressive design language, drawing inspiration from the brand’s motorsport roots. Up front, a bold waterfall-style grille with vertical slats is paired with slim LED headlamps and functional side air ducts. The profile retains its coupe-like silhouette, flowing into a ducktail-style rear, while split 3D LED tail lamps create a distinctive light signature at night.

With a width of 1,842 mm and a relatively low hood line, the MG GT maintains a planted stance. Turbo variants are equipped with 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, reinforcing its sporty positioning in the segment.
MG GT powertrain options
Under the hood, the MG GT is offered with two petrol engine choices. The 1.5-litre turbocharged unit produces 168 hp and 275 Nm of torque, paired with a dual-clutch transmission (DCT). A naturally aspirated 1.5-litre engine is also available, delivering 109 hp and 140 Nm, matched to a CVT gearbox for improved efficiency and smoother daily driving. Both configurations send power to the front wheels.
Interior and features
Inside, the MG GT features a driver-focused cabin with a layout inspired by aircraft cockpits. A 10.25-inch touchscreen sits alongside a fully digital instrument cluster, while design elements such as turbine-style air vents and a throttle-inspired gear selector add to the sporty theme.

Higher trims offer additional comfort features, including a power-adjustable driver’s seat and an electric sunroof. The cabin uses dual-tone finishes with soft-touch materials, aiming to deliver a more premium feel than before.
Technology and safety
The MG GT is available in three trim levels, starting with the 1.5L COM variant. Standard equipment includes Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, keyless entry with push-button start, and safety systems such as Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) and Emergency Brake Assist.
The 1.5T COM adds a turbocharged engine along with features like a 360-degree camera and sunroof. At the top of the range, the 1.5T LUX introduces advanced driver assistance systems, including Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking, and Traffic Jam Assist.
MG GT pricing and warranty
While regional pricing will vary, the MG GT is positioned as an affordable sporty sedan, with global pricing starting from around $13,990 (approx. AED 51,000 without VAT in the UAE). In the Middle East, the model is backed by a 6-year/200,000 km warranty, along with MG’s established aftersales network, including parts hubs in Dubai and Jeddah.
The new MG GT continues MG’s push in the region, offering a mix of design, performance, and features aimed at value-conscious buyers in the compact sedan segment.
