Leapmotor B05 Debuts at Beijing Auto Show with Sporty EV Focus and European Expansion Plans

Leapmotor used the 2026 Beijing Auto Show as a global stage to unveil its latest model, the Leapmotor B05, marking a key step in the brand’s growing international push. The reveal of B05, known as Lafa5 in China, took place during the company’s press conference themed “A New Answer to the World – Leapmotor’s Further Advancement,” attended by over 100 international media outlets.

The highlight of the showcase was the debut of the B05 Ultra, a top-spec variant positioned as a sporty, high-performance electric coupe. While this version is intended primarily for the Chinese domestic market, it signals the direction Leapmotor is taking with design, performance, and in-car technology.

Sporty positioning with high-tech focus

The B05 Ultra stands out with factory-fitted aerodynamic enhancements and a performance-oriented setup, capable of accelerating from 0-100 kph in around five seconds. Inside, the car features an 8-point seat massage system and a dual-chip architecture combining Qualcomm 8650 and 8295 processors, supporting advanced infotainment and urban navigation-assisted driving systems.

Leapmotor says the model has been developed to appeal to younger buyers looking for a more expressive and engaging EV experience, combining styling, performance, and comfort in one package.

European rollout underway

Alongside the China-focused B05 Ultra, Leapmotor confirmed that a more mainstream version of the B05, described as a sporty electric hatchback, is set for European markets. This model forms part of the company’s step-by-step global expansion strategy, focusing on competitive pricing, simplified variants, and core volume segments.
