2009 Mitsubishi Eclipse coming to GCC

Our buddies at AutoMiddleEast report that the 2009 Mitsubishi Eclipse will hit the streets of Dubai soon. In fact, their editor has gone on a press trip to Japan for a drive on a track, as Mitsubishi secretly starts promoting the Eclipse as well as the Lancer Ralliart before their imminent GCC launch.

The Eclipse is available in the American market with a 162 hp 2.4-litre 4-cylinder and a 265 hp 3.8-litre V6, both front-wheel-drive and both available with manual or automatic transmissions. It is unclear which versions will show up here.

  1. look awsome love this car

  2. i read this news in morning from automiddle east…its a late decision from mitsubishi to introduce it in uae market especially at a time when this market is expecting cars like genesis coupe…

  3. 3.8L and only 256hp ? Howcome?

  4. come on! The Gt-R has also got a 3.8 V6 turbo. and the genesis coupe has got a 2.0L turbo. its all about saving fuel money. thats a big thing on manufacturers minds nowa days but where’s eclipes’s turbo?!

  5. oooopss!!..they forgot to put the turbo in.. 😆 😆

  6. or it fell off the paper or computer screen as they were designing it and when it fell to the ground, someone must have stampped it and that how they forget to put the really important turbo!

  7. ah i see the ad agencies still think automiddleeast is bigger than drivearabia. half way through the month and already almost 55000 visits.

  8. Mitsubishi could have done better with the design…

  9. cb, have you seen the road-test of the V6 Accord coupe in Automiddleeast? they posted time that is less than 6 seconds from 0 to 100km/h.
if that number is true, then the v6 accord coupe is nice.

    they do not test 0-100.

  11. lol accord needs a V8 to run below 6 sec…a recent comparison test of altima accord mazda6 by edmunds.com showed the data as:
    Accord – 7.5 sec
    Altima – 7.0 sec
    Mazda6 – 6.5 sec

  12. lol i think they took the data from here [http://www.roadandtrack.com/article.asp?section_id=3&article_id=6030] without knowing the difference between 60 mph and 100km/hr. 0-100 should around 6.6

    That is for manual.

  14. may b the test for accord are take in the air not on the road!!!!!

  15. guys the accord is too heavy…for the new model and its very slow compared with the old model

  16. opps posted the wrong link. meant to post this http://www.dragtimes.com/Honda-Accord-Timeslip-14528.html dont know if thats manual or auto

  17. From the comparrisons of the Altima, US V6 camry, Accord and the Mazda, the accord came in last..The last time i checked..

  18. Looks like we’re back on the topic of Mazda 😆

  19. nice good looking car. but 265 hp??? 😯

  20. r u saying 265hp in a negative way or positive?

  21. just for .5 secs accord shud bring V8 engine wat da holy shit. first of all forget about the mazda, it cant even be a competitor of accord altima or camry ” how many mazda u see on dubai roads as compared to those cars, no doubt mazda is a nice car, but not in dubai. Nissan altima is just .5 sec more faster, but if u really know how to drive the car, and u know how to shift ur gear at the right time, even in automatic u cud win the race!!! overall accord has more market resale value than altima…
