While the GCC is left to fawn over the ugly 2010 E-Class sedan, the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe just went on sale in Europe and Brabus already has an extensive tuning program in place for the new two-door CLK replacement. The pinnacle of the performance tuning options is the BRABUS 6.1 engine.

The 6.1-litre Brabus-tuned engine, derived from the E 500 5.5-litre V8, dishes out 462 hp and propels the fat coupe to a top speed of 315 kph. Peak torque of 615 Nm at just 3,100 rpm is useful for 0-100 kph in 4.7 seconds.

Other add-ons include a mild body-kit with an aggressive front bumper with LED running lights, 17-inch to 20-inch wheels, aluminium front-fenders with carbon-fibre inserts, Brabus sports suspension, and a new rear bumper to fit the four tailpipes of the Brabus sport exhaust system.

Brabus also offers a high-performance brake system. It features six-piston aluminium fixed calipers and 360 mm vented and cross-drilled discs on the front axle. The rear axle stops with four-piston aluminium fixed calipers.

Brabus will customise the ugly interior of the new-for-2010 E-Class Coupe with a list of interior options that include stainless-steel scuff plated with illuminated BRABUS logo, an ergonomically shaped BRABUS sport steering wheel and an entirely new interior crafted from Brabus Mastik leather and Alcantara.

Brabus has dealerships in Dubai and Abu Dhabi in the UAE, as well as a few other GCC countries. Expect to pay a hefty premium over the price of the standard E-Class Coupe.
