Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X 330 hp upgrade in UAE

Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X 330 hp upgrade in UAE

Desperate times call for desperate measures. In this case, it is for the benefit of car enthusiasts. The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X, a car that originally retailed for more than Dhs 180,000 in the UAE, has gone through two discounts to come down to Dhs 150,000 now. And now the dealer is offering the choice of a further Dhs 5,000 discount or, interestingly enough, a 330 hp engine power upgrade.

Available in either 5-speed manual or 6-speed SST automanual trims, the “free” Evo factory-performance kit will increase overall power to precisely 328 hp, compared to the 291 hp of the regular Evo X GSR. Torque apparently increases from 366 Nm to 420 Nm. The upgraded all-wheel-drive Evo X is said to be capable of 0-100 kph in 4.4 seconds.

The upgrade comes from the same team that has been tuning and upgrading the ‘FQ’ range of Evolutions for Mitsubishi UK. We can only assume that the Evo X FQ-330 performance parts have been brought over here, in which case the parts alone are worth more than Dhs 5,000. On the other hand, it could just be an ECU reprogramme, which would account for the relatively-low price.

All options come with a 3-year 60,000 km warranty from Al Habtoor Motors, the UAE dealer here, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah. For more information on the standard model, visit the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution buyer guide.

  2. gr8 news… thanx for the superb news…
    love evo

  3. nice price…and its really fair from the dealer..not like nissan and toyota

  4. there are no ‘parts’ involved in the upgrade. all you get is an ECU reflash which is what they charge 5k for. everything else is the same! so decide if u want +30bhp with a 5k AED reflash or not.

My first guess actually was an ECU reflash. But then I went and checked on the FQ-330, which seems to get new parts for the extra power, so I figured the dealer was generous. Either way, I’ve re-edited the article. It probably is just a reflash, and it is assumed the standard mechanicals will hold up.

  6. ya the dealer was really generous…here the parts modified:

To achieve this boost in power the engineers used a breathing kit that includes an intercooler piping kit, a racing suction pipe, a high performance exhaust and downpipe as well as a remapping of the ECU. Thus acceleration has been improved and the driving experience is said to be notably enhanced. The quoted 0 – 62mph sprint time is 4.4 seconds and top velocity is 155mph (249km/h).

  7. This is one car that can totally BLOW OFF the top of the babe sitting at the side of you while driving it. Luv it!!!!

  14. 4.4 wow so it can beat jeep srt 8 🙄 🙄 hurry sohi grab it i am going to buy this stupid lancer to beat the monstera jeep

  15. The torque of this 330 Evo here is slight lower than the uk ones which might make different in acceleration.

  16. Hi All,

Now an FQ 400 upgrade is available at Al Habtoor, sprint to 100 became 3.7 sec ( Super) for a daily use car.

I have this upgarde and reached the 435 hp on wheels using another bolt-on Turbo, it will cost you guys for a standard Evo x around 40k .

    cheers

  17. Its way overpriced. In the US you can get a muffler and reflash for $1,000 and bump the HP to 400.
The only thing ofcourse is that you would void the warranty.

  18. That’s why the hiked price..as the case with all dealers.

  19. Sorry guys but to the FQ400 package costs you around 90k trust me , thats including thebody kit and the suspension. Exhaust and reflash will never ever give you 400hp!i have spent 40k for i long list of parts to get the 435hp , safe and 0 nocking
