2010 Ford Taurus & SHO coming to UAE
Ford Middle East is participating at the GITEX technology show on October 2009, and will use the Dubai event as a basis for the GCC launch of the 2010 Ford Taurus and Taurus SHO models.
The 2010 Ford Taurus is a fullsize front-wheel-drive sedan, replacing the fruity Five Hundred, and comes standard with a 263 hp 3.5-litre V6 and 337 Nm of torque, paired with a choice of two new 6-speed automatic transmissions, one with SelectShift manual shifting capability and paddle shifters. It is the latest model to wear the Taurus badge, which started life in 1986 as the world’s first aerodynamically-styled mainstream midsize sedan.
The special 2010 Ford Taurus SHO model comes with subtle exterior differences, a 365 hp 3.5-litre twin-turbo “EcoBoost” V6, a 6-speed SelectShift automatic and all-wheel-drive. It also features mildly stiffer suspension, larger wheels and a rear lip spoiler.
Other features available on Taurus models include adaptive cruise control, collision warning with brake support, MyKey that allows parents or fleet bosses to activate a customised restricted driving mode with limited top speed, keyless entry with a keypad system, auto high beam when no other vehicles are detected, rain-sensing wipers, capless fuel filler system, blind spot information system (BLIS), cross-traffic alert when backing out of a parking spot, Ford SYNC voice-activated phone and entertainment system, massage seats, 12-speaker 390W Sony stereo with Dolby Digital 5.1 sound, and a power rear sunshade.
The 2010 Taurus is expected to hit UAE showrooms by the end of 2009.
