Gulf Bike Festival supports Dubai Shopping Festival 2010

The Gulf Bike Festival, an annual bike event and exhibition popular with motor enthusiasts around the region, is being held in partnership with the 15th edition of Dubai Shopping Festival this year. Organised by Live Nation Middle East & Middle East Communications & Forums (MECOM Forums) in association with Harley Davidson, the event runs over three days from 4th February to 6th February, 2010.

The festival, held under the patronage of HE Mohammed Ben Sulayem, President of the Automobile and Touring Club and a Vice President of FIA, will include tow concerts by the hugely popular Nickelback and Status Quo, and showcase bikes with the Gulf Bike Expo that incorporates Dubai Bike Week displaying the latest in bikes, custom bikes, all terrain vehicles, clothing, accessories, and lifestyle products featuring special sale offers to festival goers.

Yousif Mubarak, COO of the Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment (formerly DSF office), “We are delighted to support the Gulf Bike Festival during the 15th edition of DSF and this association is a reflection of our continued efforts in reaching out to a wider audience and various visitor segments to enrich the overall experience of entertainment during Dubai Shopping Festival.”

Headlining Gulf Bike Expo on the main stage are Canadian rockers, Nickelback on Friday 5th February and Status Quo on Saturday 6th February. Aside from the main stage, the Piazza area will house a smaller stage, set in the very heart of the festival where 6 of the best, most exciting new bands from the Middle East will be playing during the course of the weekend.

Also in the much anticipated Piazza area are three separate stunt zones; the Red Bull FMX Zone where athletes will be showcasing their airborne skills, a Super Moto Live Circuit where riders will race, replacing their tires with street tires and the Rage Extreme Zone, a skate/BMX park. In addition to these areas, the Piazza will include a Suzuki Quad Zone for children and a number of food and beverage outlets to keep visitors entertained and fuelled for the duration of the festival.

The purpose built exhibition marquee; the largest in the Middle East, will be showcasing around 120 dedicated bike exhibitors including Harley Davidson, Ducati, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha, BMW, KTM, Victory and Big Dog through to custom bike builders and bike accessories.

As the largest dedicated bike and off road bike exhibition in the Middle East, the event will house approximately 150 exhibiting companies and brands attracting thousands of visitors each day. As well as bikes and associated accessories, there will be a host of top lifestyle brands and ready to wear products on offer from Oakely through to Ed Hardy, one of the event’s biggest exhibitors.
