AC Schnitzer spices up the BMW X1

AC Schnitzer has decided to tune up the BMW X1 with some added power and visual upgrades. They have just released the upgrade only on the diesel engine at the moment, but will be released soon for the petrol version as well.

There are three 4-cylinder diesel engines available in the standard BMW X1. In the 2.3-litre twin turbo engine X1, the power jumps from 204 hp to 240 hp. The other two engines, the 2.0 and 1.8 diesel, which features a single turbo, gets upgraded to 210 hp and 171 hp respectively. They are available in both the sDrive and xDrive models. AC Schnitzer has also added a suspension spring kit and an aluminium strut brace for better handling.

The exterior upgrades include front spoiler and rear skirt extension, and a rear roof spoiler which improves downforce and makes it more visually appealing. A whole host of rims are available ranging from 18 to 20 inches.

The interior gets silver carbon interior trim, illuminated leather gear knob, aluminium gear knobs with or without digital gear display, aluminium cover for the i-Drive system controller, aluminium handbrake handle and pedal set, foot rests and velours foot mats.

When the BMW X1 will make it to the UAE or GCC is still not known. For the latest specs and updates on the other BMW models in UAE and Abu Dhabi, check out the BMW buyer guide.
