Scion tC 2011 sports coupe revealed

Scion showed off their latest creation recently, the 2011 Scion tC sports coupe. It features a new chassis with improved performance and looks.

The front-wheel drive tC will be powered by a 2.5-litre 4 cylinder Dual VVT-i engine producing about 180 hp. You have the option of having a 6-speed manual or a new 6-speed automatic gearbox. Modifications to the intake manifold and exhaust has helped increase performance. The engine is also more fuel-efficient now.

The 2011 model is now lower with MacPherson strut front-suspension and a double-wishbone rear-suspension. It has a completely new chassis now which results in better handling characteristics. Wider tyres are wrapped around 18-inch alloys and 16-inch disc brakes help stop the tC quickly. It gets standard ABS, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), traction control (TRAC), Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist (BA).

The exterior now has a lower stance with wider flares and new front grille to make it look more aggressive. The moonroof is standard. The interior cabin space has been improved and the folding rear seats give it more trunk space. It has a new three-spoke steering wheel and the cockpit controls face inwards towards the driver for easier access.

Whether Toyota decide to sell the Scion tC in the UAE and GCC is still not known.

What do you think?

  1. The front looks good, the side profile looked different in a good way, until I noticed the rear overhang being shorter than the front overhang, which… makes it look odd and distasteful overall.
    The rear is a Fail
Interior is pretty interesting, er, well at least the radio is. the rest of the interior looks very dated with the single color; the glove box; the A/C vents and the school desk-like dash top. Interior: Fail.

  2. I wonder if toyota fired some designers after reaching the top…

  3. it doesnt look bad…they should introduce it in uae market as toyota tc like they done with xa before…

  4. i hope it will have limites slip

  5. Nice little ride. I like the design of it overall. The rear’s cool too, reminds me of the Celica.

  6. I thought this was from China!

Can’t believe this one is a Toyota, the car interior looks 10-15 years old already.

  7. mmm, lest see
    1 front =tiburon hyundai
    2 side =dodge charger
