Infiniti G25 2011 model for U.S. launch

Infiniti G25 2011 model for U.S. launch

Infiniti is bringing a new model to its American line-up. The 2011 G25 sedan will offer a smaller 2.5-litre V6 engine that is more fuel-efficient than the 3.7-litre V6 now fitted in the G37 sedan. It also seems to look exactly like the G37 sedan, which itself was facelifted for 2010 and quietly launched in the UAE without anybody telling us.

The 2011 Infiniti G25 sedan shares the same exterior, interior and chassis as the G37, but with a smaller displacement engine. The 2.5-litre DOHC 24-valve V6 produces 218 hp and 253 Nm of torque, versus the G37’s 328 hp 3.7-litre V6. The G25 Sedan comes with a standard 7-speed automatic transmission and is available in both rear-wheel drive and intelligent all-wheel drive. In the States, buyers can choose one of three trims, namely the G25, the G25 Journey and the G25x AWD.

The G25 sedan’s extensive list of standard equipment includes leather-appointed seating, Shodo aluminum interior trim, 8-way power driver’s seat and 4-way power front passenger’s seat, Automatic Temperature Control, premium audio system with six speakers, XM Satellite Radio and much more. Other standard features range from 17-inch alloy wheels, HID headlights, ABS, Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) and traction control. The G25 Journey model adds rearview monitor, heated front seats, heated outside mirrors, auto on/off headlights, dual-zone automatic a/c and more.

The G25 is scheduled to go on sale by September in the States. It is unknown if this entry-level model will be available in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and other GCC countries.

Keep track of updates in the Infiniti buyer guide.

Note to Nissan: It absolutely pisses me off when I have to find out about car releases, such as G37, QX and M, from Wheels magazine, especially if said car has been handed to them as a long-term tester already while I am still waiting on 2009-released models since last year from you. If anyone is wondering why I haven’t tested a Nissan in a long while, know that it is not my fault.

  2. AA/Nissan ME are you “LISTENING”..we want Mash’s review on g37/fx50 s/M56 and not wheels long term views!!

    Come on guys….

^hehe, thanks. I did the FX last year, but QX will be a long wait. Didn’t even drive the Patrol yet.

  4. Nissan Are you blind!!coming form some one who loves nissan btw..wth are you guys doing??NO ONE READS freaging WHEELS magazine!!

  5. Weird, how BMW have handed you a number of cars to test drive, and GM gave you a long term test drive. Only if they think their brand’s worth more than BMW and GM, then that’s a big problem.

  6. G25? i know what this means… It means just like the other dealerships here, infiniti will up the prices on the G37 models inorder to get the market flowing with the smaller engine model..

  7. i dont understand why you dont get test drive of the nissan ,but i would suggest tyou should go up to the dealer for one ,may be not for a week but for a couple of minutes ,wheels magazine does a good job ,and you too ,but i think you copy paste the articles from another blog MHC, I did drive the QX56 and the Patrol ,both and blend to perfection except for the recall for the patrol, but too classy interiors ,feels like a private aircrarft, thought i havent seen one for real

And what is it that I copy-paste?

  9. What aircraft man? It’s some sort of house on wheel… i think there should be some size specification for vehicles. Who knows tomorrow they will make Mitsu Rosa size 4×4’s and call it Patrol and Landcruiser. You don’t want to be driving buses to offices… Half the Armada and Tahoe’s in town have broken rear bumpers.

  10. hi rover
what should suv look like , a small car ,,people who travel in limos would be asked to travel in coaster to get cheaper,
my be you are right a palace on wheels

  11. not like car…but size of midsize suv is fine, may be that’s the max… anyway something that grows in size fails in onffroad, and if it has that much offroad tools and blasting engine…onroad takes a hit… and if both is there…the vehicle gets a killer price tag…not to mention parking woes… everything looks cool in showroom and highway, once you are back to parking lots and crowds… reality creeps in ..

I like Armadas good looking, well equiped, neatly priced, adequate engine…still won’t call it palace on wheels…

A Patrol will better qualify for that tag… but still couldn’t digest its shape…sigh

  12. i was mentioning about the patrol only ,i like armadas exterior looks ,but the patrol is class from inside, and to mention dont u see kia picantos and suzuki alto with briken bumper ,if not ,come to qussais

  13. I rarely see Kia Picanto’s and Alto’s on road, their are more number of Armada’s and Tahoe’s in UAE than Picanto’s and Alto’s. 🙂

  14. Ok chk out for yaris and tidas ,i see scracthes aon all hatch backs compared to the SUV

  15. ^ That is cuz of the concentration of assholes that carelessly open their doors and slam them on other people’s cars..

  16. Just saw this one today at the Dubai Motor Show..don’t know if you had a look at this..looked exactly similar to the G37..
