Mitsubishi ASX 2011 sub-compact 4×4 now in UAE

The 2011 Mitsubishi ASX, also known as the RVR or the Outlander Sport in other countries, has been officially launched in the UAE. The sub-compact crossover fits in a limited market segment which is currently occupied by only a handful of direct competitors.

The 5-seater Mitsubishi ASX is based on the Outlander platform and actually shares the exact same wheelbase, but is shorter at the front and especially the rear. The standard engine is a 148 hp 2.0-litre DOHC 4-cylinder with “MIVEC” variable valve timing, CVT transmission and either front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive. The manual version will not come here.

The base model comes with 16-inch alloys, keyless entry, cloth seats, soft-touch dash and front door surfaces, CD/MP3 player with AUX and USB ports, ABS-assisted disc brakes, four-wheel independent suspension, seven airbags including a knee bag, and an optional panoramic glass roof with mood lighting along the sides.

The top model gets 17-inch alloys, a front lip spoiler, intelligent entry with starter button, HID headlights, leather upholstery and a 7-speaker stereo with subwoofer, among other items.

It is apparently now available in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and other showrooms around the Emirates. We couldn’t get firm pricing from Mitsubishi, but it seems the base price will be around Dhs 74,500 with the top one going for around Dhs 90,000.

Keep track of updates in the Mitsubishi buyer guide.

We’ve driven the car at the launch party, so expect a “first drive” article soon.

  2. Im assuming its probably gonna competing with the tucson and sportage and everything along those lines..

  3. koreans used to copy others and now others copy koreans *look at the back its exactly like the tucsons*

  4. Altough it seems a copy of the korean cars but be sure there will be a big difference… that’s much higher spare part prices!

korean cars are advancing in light speed, while unfortunately japanese cars are getting worse! you can see that in the poor finishing and low quality material, not mentioning increasing problems, and of course increasing prices, can you imagine that a fully-loaded CIVIC is 86k SAR and Saudi Arabia!!!!

Mashfique, thank you and the team for this nice website, i visit it daily.. keep up the good work guys!

  5. nope.doesnt look like a tucson.
the sketches were posted almost an year ago

  6. back lights looks like luxus es300. back looks like tucson. price with options ok

  7. Looks million times better than a Rav 4 atleast. Hell anything looks better than a Rav 4.

  8. What is the price in U.A.E.?

  9. sportage looks more better then tucson and asx.

  10. I have driven the sportage and now the Qashqai…and this car feels better than either of those. Love the way it was quieter even under hard acceleration, cornering was quite impressive and I don’t mind the interior non plastic finish either.

  11. great. Same engine as the Lancer EX, same crap CVT transmission but heavier body = poorer performance.

  12. THE FRONT VIEW LIKE VERRY FUNNY…LIKE A JOKER BUT LOOK AT THE BACK A LITLE QUICK LIKE A TUCSON. OVERAL IS OK LAAA.

  13. Hi, I am planning to buy a compact SUV and I am very much confused between Mitsubishi ASX and Hyundai Tucson (2WD). This is my first car and one of the major factors which I am looking for is the resale value of the car. Can you please let me have your advice on this as its getting very difficult for me to decide.
