Hyundai Elantra 2011 officially unveiled

Hyundai’s impressive run of successes is set to continue with the official launch of the Elantra compact sedan. Already revealed in Korea as the Avante, the Elantra sedan is a complete departure from the awful outgoing model, and is arguably the most futuristically-styled compact car on the market now, taking over the mantle from the formerly ground-breaking Honda Civic.

The standard engine for the 2011 Hyundai Elantra is a 148 hp 1.8-litre 4-cylinder with 178 Nm of torque, apparently capable of a 6.9 litres/100 km rated fuel economy. No other details are available at the moment.

Expect the all-new 2011 Elantra to debut in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and other GCC countries in the next few months.

Keep track of updates in the Hyundai Elantra buyer guide.
