2013 Mercedes-Benz S-Class prototype in Dubai

This prototype Mercedes-Benz was caught refuelling at a petrol station in Dubai. Mercedes-Benz prototypes have become a common fixture on roads in the UAE for hot-weather testing, which is probably a good thing considering how “well” European cars fair in the Middle East climate.

Our reader, Ameen Hassan, sent in these photos. He believes it is the next-generation Mercedes-Benz S-Class, and it certainly looks like that. No other details are available at this point, except that the new model will have more fuel-efficient engines, likely with extensive use of turbo technology.

Another reader, Pradeep Koppal, caught this shot of the same camouflaged S-Class near the Mercedes-Benz Middle East headquarters in Dubai.

Keep track of updates in the Mercedes-Benz S-Class buyer guide.

What do you think?

  1. So, I was a fool to say the camouflaged Merc I saw was 2013 CLC. 😛

  2. I think its still early to release a new S-class.. This is a once in a decade product that introduces years of R&D..

  3. When will it be released and how much will it cost? Any ideas

  4. if its clc do u think it would look big like sclass use your mind .its a big huge s class which is getting clues from cls the new generation of design which to me is fantastic well done merc

  5. Cool.anyway sooner or later u will know whether it CLC or S-Class.
