Honda NSX CONCEPT-GT debuts at Suzuka Circuit

Honda NSX CONCEPT-GT
With so much competition from Lexus and Nissan, Honda has officially gone open with the new NSX CONCEPT-GT hybrid racer. The racecar turned up at the GT500 class of the Round 5 2013 AUTOBACS SUPER GT at the Suzuka Circuit. It is due to make its first full appearance at the 2014 SUPER GT Series next year.

But from what we can see, the NSX CONCEPT-GT is clearly based on the NSX Concept that was showcased at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January 2012.

Not much details of the race car have been revealed, but they tell us that the NSX CONCEPT-GT has a mid-mounted 2.0-litre inline 4-cylinder turbo engine with direct-injection. Alongside that, the vehicle is equipped with a racing hybrid system. And even though Honda hasn’t officially stated, we believe the car produces around 500 hp, which is the standard norm for the GT500 Class.

We’re expecting to see more of this vehicle next year, when it comes out to replace the Honda HSV-010GT which took centre spot from the NSX back in 2010.

What do you think?
