Long-term update: Honda S2000 still the cheapest sports car to service

honda-s2000
Ah, our Honda S2000 — a pain to drive daily, a pain to keep its roof in good shape, and a pain to keep dings at bay. But damn is it cheap to service.

We just had a major service done at the dealer, and it cost us just Dhs 1055, including wipers, synthetic oil and all sorts of fluids. That’s about as much as a minor service for the Toyota 86. Or about as much as a major service on a basic Honda City!

The Honda dealer is known for its “high” service charges on its regular cars, but heck, we’re not bothered.

  1. Well the service for a Mustang costs much less than that and I am pretty sure for other parts too (2005-09) but it is a muscle car…

  2. It is between 550 to 600 Dhs.
    I hope that helps!

  3. …and yes it is the dealer price.

  4. If you accept that my G35 its a sports sedan and a premium brand, the service costs less than your Honda. Change of oil, filter, transmission oil and diff oil cost me only 800 dhs at the dealer. It was also synthetic oil, to be changed every 10k kms.

Also, what exactly did your Honda service consist of? Gve us full info, so we can have a better ideea and compare.

  5. S2000 minor service used to cost 350 dhms.
Yes the cheapest and most reliable sports car.
Had it for 3 years, didn’t need more than the regular service.
