Bentley Bentayga 2

Bentley has finally officially revealed the all-new Bentayga, the luxury brand’s first SUV model.

Jumping to the engine specs, the Bentayga is powered by a twin-turbocharged 6.0-litre W12 engine, connected to an 8-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive system. The motor produces 600 hp and 900 Nm of torque, which is good enough to propel it from 0-100 kph in around 4.1 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 301 kph.

Bentley claim a fuel economy rating of a decent 12.8 l/100 km, which is achieved thanks to a variable displacement system, which shuts down half of the engine under defined conditions. Intake and exhaust valves, fuel injection and ignition are all shut down on defined cylinders, with the engine running as a 6-cylinder for improved efficiency.

Looking at the exterior, it follows up on the EX-9 concept but the luxury SUV has a different front fascia, sharing design cues from the current Continental GT and Flying Spur. Other notable features include LED headlights, a front skid-plate, front fender vents, aluminium roof-rails, panoramic glass roof and 20 to 22-inch alloy wheels.

The interior is, as expected, nothing short of luxury, with its premium leather upholstery, metallic accents, an infotainment system with an 8-inch display and 22-way adjustable front seats with heating, ventilation and massage functions.

Bentley is also offering a 4-seat variant with each seat having its own set of power controls and massage functions. The seats are divided by a small centere-console which consists of cup holders, storage compartments and USB charging ports.

Other optional equipment include a high-end premium audio system and entertainment Android tablets with 4G, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity.

Expect the Bentley Bentayga to come to the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other GCC countries sometime in the first half of next year.

Comments

  1. The exterior feels like some Chinese car manufacturer got inspired by the Continental GT and decided to make a SUV of it. Ugly.

Beautiful interior though and that W12 will be sweet music to the ears.

  2. Looks balanced overall unlike the concept that they shared a few years ago. Feels luxurious inside out…so it’s safe to say that it’s well worth the money!

  3. Bentley got the interior right…not a big fan if the exterior though….surely won’t get the respect the badge deserves on the streets…but then again, that was the opinion when Cayenne hit the streets way back.

  4. I will not discus the design.

But 0-100 kph in 4.1 seconds and a top speed of 301 kph in an SUV.

    What an impressive numbers !
