2021 Nissan Patrol Nismo debuts in the UAE and GCC

Nissan revealed the 2021 Nissan Patrol Nismo in a global debut that was held in through a virtual event hosted at Expo 2020 Dubai. That’s apt, considering the Nismo SUV is a Middle East exclusive, and has never been offered anywhere else.

Marking the 70th anniversary of the first-generation 1951 Nissan Patrol, the 2021 Patrol Nismo is built off of the Patrol V8 LE Platinum City model, with bespoke Nismo tuning by apparently the same team that hand-builds GT-R engines at Nissan’s Yokohama engine plant.

The front features a new fascia with a honeycomb mesh, NISMO emblem and lip-mounted fog lights. The side-ducts in the bumper are said for be functional for reducing lift.

Also part of the package is a new roof spoiler, better brake cooling and unspecified structural enhancements under the skin.

The rear bumper is said to be “more symmetrical,” which means it has dual exhaust “tips” along with dark chrome inserts and new tail lights, as well as LED rear fog lights inspired by the Nissan Formula 1 car.

The signature Nismo red line trim covers the circumference at the model’s base, while 22-inch two-tone aluminium wheels complete the look. The SUV’s tuned suspension features Bilstein shock absorbers.

Inside, the seats have alcantara fabric with side leather, while a black alcantara steering wheel, red carbon fibre inserts and embossed headrests complete the interior.

The 2021 Nissan Patrol NISMO is available in four exterior colours – pearl white, solid black, grey and silver.

The 5.6-litre V8 is carried over from the old Nismo and shared with the top-spec Infiniti QX80, making 428 hp and 560 Nm of torque.

The 2021 Nismo has the latest Nissan Intelligent Mobility (NIM) tech, which includes Intelligent Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Smart Rear View Mirror and a High Beam Assist. Technology upgrades to the Patrol Nismo also include Apple CarPlay compatibility, wireless charging capability and USB ports including USB-A and USB-C.

The 2021 Nissan Patrol Nismo goes on sale across the Middle East from April 2021, with the UAE having a starting price of Dhs 385,000.

  1. Does anyone know what improvements were made to the AC system for the 2020 facelift models? Some GCC markets received an upgraded dual cooling fan set up mid 2016. Am not sure if this is the change has been rolled out to all markets in 2020, or if its something else.
