Al Habtoor Motors hosts media drive for new Mitsubishi Destinator
Following its UAE debut, the all-new Mitsubishi Destinator was recently put through its paces at a dedicated media test drive event hosted by Al Habtoor Motors at Dubai Autodrome.
The controlled circuit environment allowed participants to experience the midsize SUV’s on-road behaviour beyond a static showroom setting. The programme included technical briefings followed by structured driving sessions designed to highlight ride comfort, steering precision and overall cabin stability.
Powering the Destinator is a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine, producing 161 hp, tuned to deliver a balance of performance and efficiency suited to daily commuting and highway driving in the UAE. While positioned as a family-oriented SUV, Mitsubishi is aiming to offer competitive performance within the segment.

What we found most impressive while driving was the throttle response, and switching it to “DS” mode actually further improved power delivery.
The Destinator features a three-row, 7-seat layout, targeting buyers who need flexible passenger and cargo space. Seating configurations can be adjusted to prioritise luggage capacity when required, adding to its practicality appeal. Connectivity and convenience features were also demonstrated during the event, though full regional specifications may vary by trim level.
With the launch of the Destinator, Mitsubishi expands its SUV portfolio in the UAE, strengthening its presence in the competitive compact SUV segment that continues to see steady demand from families and fleet buyers alike.
