2027 Nissan Tekton revealed ahead of GCC launch
Nissan has unveiled the all-new Tekton, a five-seat compact SUV featuring Patrol-inspired styling, two turbocharged petrol engines and an extensive range of connected and driver-assistance technology.
The Tekton was developed in India in partnership with Renault and will be manufactured at the Renault-Nissan facility in Chennai. Nissan plans to export the model to 50 markets across the Middle East and Africa.
Nissan Patrol-inspired exterior
The Tekton takes several design cues from the larger Nissan Patrol, particularly around the front grille and lighting.
Its front end features a wide grille with chrome detailing, a sculpted bonnet, C-shaped five-chamber LED headlights and a contrasting lower skid plate. The SUV also gets muscular wheel arches, flush-fitting roof rails and aerodynamic spoilers.

At the rear, connected C-shaped LED taillights stretch across the tailgate. Nissan has also fitted a piano-black trim element, while higher variants are offered with 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.
The Tekton measures 4,349 mm long, 1,815 mm wide and 1,674 mm high, with a 2,657 mm wheelbase. Ground clearance is listed at 212 mm, placing it firmly in the compact family SUV category rather than positioning it as a serious off-roader.
Interior and technology
Inside, the Tekton receives a driver-focused dashboard with a double-D-shaped steering wheel, raised centre console and a fly-by-wire electronic gear selector on automatic versions.
Higher trim levels feature a 10.1-inch Tek-Link infotainment display alongside a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. Google built-in provides access to Google Maps, Google Assistant, Google Play and compatible applications without requiring a connected smartphone.

Other available equipment includes powered and ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, 48-colour ambient lighting, an Arkamys 3D surround-sound system, a cooled wireless phone charger and a powered tailgate.
The MyNISSAN application supports more than 55 connected functions, including remote engine starting with air-conditioning, remote locking, vehicle-status information and a vehicle-location function. Availability of these services in the UAE has not yet been confirmed.
Boot capacity is rated at 518 litres below the parcel shelf or as much as 700 litres when measured to the roof. Folding the second-row seats increases the available space to 1,789 litres.
Two turbo-petrol engines
The Indian-market Tekton is offered with two turbocharged petrol engines.
The entry-level T160 uses a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbo engine producing 100 PS, equivalent to approximately 99 hp, and 166 Nm of torque. It is paired with a six-speed manual gearbox and completes the 0-100 kph run in a claimed 12.5 seconds. Fuel economy is rated at 19.4 km/l.
The more powerful T280 receives a 1.3-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine producing 161 hp, and 280 Nm. Buyers can choose between a six-speed manual transmission and a six-speed wet-clutch dual-clutch automatic.
Nissan claims a 0-100 kph time of 9.5 seconds for the manual and 9.9 seconds for the automatic. Fuel economy is rated at 17.8 km/l and 18.5 km/l respectively.

The Tekton is front-wheel drive, with MacPherson-strut front suspension and a rear torsion-beam setup. It also features dual-mode steering, selectable driving modes, traction control and electronic stability control.
Nissan has not confirmed which engine and transmission combination will be offered in the UAE and GCC. The 1.3-litre engine paired with the dual-clutch automatic is the most likely configuration for the GCC market.
Safety and driver-assistance features
The Tekton has received a five-star Bharat NCAP safety rating. Six airbags are fitted as standard, while 62 percent of the monocoque structure uses high-strength or ultra-high-strength steel.

Depending on the specification, the SUV can be equipped with more than 17 driver-assistance features. These include adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, autonomous emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, blind-spot warning, traffic-sign recognition and driver-attention monitoring.
A 3D Intelligent Around View Monitor uses four cameras, while a 360-degree parking-assistance system uses 12 sensors to help manoeuvre the vehicle in confined spaces.
Nissan Tekton GCC launch and price
Nissan has not announced an exact launch date, but it could arrive before the end of 2026, although the final timing remains unconfirmed.
The Tekton is likely to sit between the smaller Nissan Magnite and the larger Nissan Kicks, placing it in competition with compact SUVs such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Toyota Corolla Cross and Renault Duster.
More information on the Nissan Tekton’s UAE engines, specifications, warranty and prices should be released closer to its regional launch.
