2013 Detroit Auto Show: Photo coverage


The 2013 Detroit Auto Show, the largest in North America, is once again the scene for several new launches, although the total number is distinctly lower than several years ago. Among the new launches are the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, the 2013 Porsche Cayman, the 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class, the 2014 Lexus IS F-Sport, the 2014 Infiniti Q50 and the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette. Notable concepts include the Hyundai Genesis HCD-14, the BMW 4-Series Coupe, the Volkswagen CrossBlue, the Lincoln MKC, the Ford Atlas, the Nissan Resonance and the Toyota Corolla Furia, all foreshadowing future models that will debut in a year or two.

So we got a 2013 Volkswagen Tiguan 2.0T


We held off on testing the latest Volkswagen Tiguan because nothing much had changed in the big refresh of 2012. Aside from a new face and tail lamps, there’s absolutely no difference from the older model. However, while the old tester we drove was an “R-Line” model, this new one is a slightly different version.

Mercedes-Benz S-Class 2014 to feature self-driving tech


The 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class is now expected to be launched in April this year, at the 2013 Beijing Auto Show. China has become a hot-bed for luxury car sales as the rich become richer and the poor assemble iPhones. However, Mercedes-Benz is still busy using Dubai as the hot-bed for prototype testing, as we spotted the camouflaged next-generation S-Class yet again in our town recently. The more interesting bit is that they’ve announced a new self-driving system for the new model. Well, almost.
