Long-term update: Practicality and performance of the BMW M135i

I was a little nervous about ordering a car I’d never seen in person especially since I had seen the meek-looking normal 1-Series at the dealership and it didn’t fill me with a lot of confidence. Any doubts I had were dispelled as soon as I laid eyes on my car at the dealership upon its arrival. With the M Sport kit, the M135i looks far more aggressive and purposeful than the vanilla 1 series. The M Sport front bumper especially adds a lot of presence (and a bit of menace) to the car. BMW M2 makes regional debut at Qatar Motor Show

BMW officially unveiled the all-new M2 Coupe at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show a couple of weeks ago, but interestingly, it also made its GCC regional debut at the 2016 Qatar Motor Show this week. Standing in as the successor to the 1-Series M Coupe, the M2 will sit ahead of the M235i in the 2-Series lineup.

Cars getting hacked is major news now, but don’t worry just yet

Cyber-security researchers Chris Valasek and Charlie Miller were in the news earlier this week after a Wired magazine story showed the two programmers access critical vehicle controls on a Jeep Cherokee that allowed them to remotely control critical vehicle functions. The Fiat-Chrysler group had already been alerted to the issue and were quietly offering a software fix to customers in a bid to not alert malicious hackers. However, Chrysler is not the first brand to be vulnerable to hacking, as Chevrolet and BMW were in the news for the same reason this year.
