Citroën for the most part, is a silent player in our market. But no one can deny that their cars grab a second look, thanks to their quirky design. The Citroen C5 Aircross is a crossover that stands out for this very reason in the otherwise dreary sea of tepid competition. Now, it is getting a facelift.
When it comes to funky car designs, Citroën sits tightly on the throne. And now they have broken out all their craziness to produce 2022 Citroën C5 X, giving company to the Peugeot 508 and DS9 as sister-model flagships. This sedan-wagon-crossover mashup takes on the likes of the Mercedes Benz E-Class, BMW 5 Series and the Audi A6, although it’s not quite premium enough for that crowd.
The luxury car market is an ever-growing space and mainstream brands from around the world have been trying to grab their piece which is otherwise dominated by the German brands. PSA Group, which owns Citroen and Peugeot, had recently jumped into the ring with DS, their semi-luxury spin-off of Citroen. They have entered the luxury sedan segment with a new model, christened 2021 DS 9. The plug-in-hybrid sedan comes with a handsome design and a lot of tech to lock horns with the established rivals.
Citroen reveals the C3 Aircross as the funky sibling of the bigger C5 Aircross. The new C3 Aircross sports the C5’s same design language which makes it look more like a crossover than an MPV.
At the 2015 Auto Shanghai, Citroen showed off an Aircross concept that boasted a funky design and a hybrid powertrain. Two years after that at the 2017 Auto Shanghai, it was revealed again, now as a production model. This here is the Citroen C5 Aircross.
Hoping to bite a bit of the premium car market pie, Citroen’s luxury sub-brand DS launched a new model at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. Hoping to leverage the immense popularity for crossovers in the market, the new DS 7 Crossback SUV took the stage with a handsome design and a flurry of features up its sleeve.
Citroën’s spin-off nameplate DS starts its life as a separate luxury brand with the unveiling of an all-new, all-electric E-Tense 2-door sports car. It will be unveiled to the public at the upcoming 2016 Geneva Motor Show.
