The last time we did a muscle-car comparo back in 2011, the Mustang still had the suspension of a bullock cart, the Camaro was a heavy tank with slit windows, and the Challenger was the size of the Titanic. Fast-forward to 2017, and the Mustang has now become a refined tea-sipping aristocrat; the Camaro is a lighter, smaller car with even slittier windows; and the Challenger is still the size of the Titanic, except with better everything under the skin. 2018 Dodge Durango SRT offers speed for the whole family

The performance SUV class is cluttered with European SUVs from Mercedes-AMG, BMW M Division, Porsche and Audi. The list even includes new entrants like the Nissan Patrol Nismo from Japan, say. But what if you wanted a fire-breathing SUV from the other side of the Atlantic? The Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT was the only American option in the list, but not anymore. Dodge has plonked in a bomb of an engine under the hood of their Durango SUV to produce the 2018 Durango SRT, a 2.5-ton SUV with a quarter mile time of 12.9 seconds.

Mopar customs and crate engine kits revealed at SEMA 2016

On invitation from Fiat-Chrysler, we were in Las Vegas last week. The Mopar brand debuted six modified vehicle creations at the 2016 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Some of these cars were created to highlight the possibilities with Mopar accessories and aftermarket parts, while others were created to get feedback on future accessory offerings. The show was also used to launch new Mopar Crate HEMI engine kits that provide classic hotrod restorers a factory-backed, efficient option for plugging modern HEMI engines into Mopar vehicles from the 1970s and earlier.
