The newly-branded Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has announced a full-blown five-year plan for its extensive brand portfolio that includes Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Maserati and Ferrari. Some of the reshuffling sounds smart, a few baffling, and one a retraction of a previous decision regarding SRT.
Mopar is a name that’s well-known in the States, but not elsewhere. It started out as the brand for the Chrysler Group’s parts and accessories division. Now they are pushing hard in the the Middle East market as they aim to improve service standards and customer care, as well as offer easier access to aftermarket accessories. After the formation of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Mopar logos will now be incorporated on aftersales parts for Abarth, Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Fiat Professional, Jeep, Lancia, SRT and RAM brands. If you remember, we had gone to Italy last month to drive a couple of cars, including the Fiat 500L and the Alfa Romeo 4C. We also drove the latest version of the Fiat 500 Cult, a new trim level with a new engine and a manual gearbox, before it was even revealed at the Geneva Motor Show last week. We’d never driven a 500 before that, but damn is it good with the Euro-spec hardware.
Several photos and full details of the all-new 2015 Jeep Renegade sub-compact crossover have been leaked ahead of its official debut at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, and it looks like there will also be a “Trail-Rated” off-road version with red tow-hooks and everything.

What we got was a romp in a manual 500 with a new turbo engine as well as a brief run in an insane Alfa Romeo 4C, but more on all that later. As opposed to what the badge up front says, the Fiat Freemont is no Italian. Basically, it’s just a Mexican built Dodge Journey with a mafia attire, courtesy of the ‘Black Code’ pack. The Fiat Freemont Black Code was revealed at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.
