Video of the week: Truck jumps over moving Lotus F1 car
With Formula One fever currently gripping the UAE as the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is taking place at the Yas Marina Circuit, EMC technology and the Lotus F1 recently released this insane stunt video involving a semi-truck and an F1 car. The stunt also broke the world record for the longest jump in a truck, at 83 feet and 7 inches, or about 25.5 metres.
First drive: 2015 Lotus Evora S in the UAE
The Lotus Evora has been available in the UAE for the past year now. And it’s been around in Europe since 2009. Then what’s new about the two Evora S cars we’re piloting here? Nothing really. Given our unfamiliarity with the British brand’s products, we asked for our first experience, and the local dealer obliged. The yellow one is an automatic, while the white one is a manual. Yep, manual.
Lotus Evora first-responder for Dubai Ambulance
Trading Enterprises, the UAE dealer for Lotus, has entered into a partnership with Dubai Ambulance to supply a Lotus Evora S as a first-response unit.
2015 Lotus Exige S and Roadster launched in the UAE
The Lotus Evora had so far been the only flag-bearer for the British sports-car brand in the UAE since its debut late last year. But yesterday evening, local dealers Al Futtaim Automotive’s Trading Enterprises have just launched the Exige S and Exige Roadster models in Dubai.
C-01 to be sold as Lotus’ first two-wheeled hyperbike
Before you get all excited about the C-01, we want you to know that the new Lotus motorcycle isn’t actually a full-blown Lotus. Instead it’s a joint venture between German racing firm Kodewa and the tuners from Holzer Group. But, yes, as the name indicates, they have been granted license to produce the motorcycles in the renowned sports car makers name.

Some of you may have already heard the rumours, but it is official now – Al Futtaim Group will be the official dealer for Lotus in the UAE.
Lotus to start building motorcycles in new project
A new company called Lotus Motorcycles, a joint project of Kodewa, car designer Daniel Simon and the Holzer Group, has apparently been established to design and build the first motorcycle under the badge of the long-running sports-car manufacturer. The bike will be named Lotus C-01, and is being billed as a “hyper-bike” by the company.
UAE brokerage helps Lotus F1 Team target carbon neutrality
Advanced Global Trading, a “carbon credit” brokerage group based in Dubai, will help the Lotus Formula 1 Team minimise its carbon footprint and reduce emissions as it targets carbon neutrality in 2012. For those not aware, carbon credits are sort of like payments made by the so-called ‘polluter’ for charitable ‘green’ activities that improve the environment, effectively cancelling out any damage done by them. Other notable payees include SUV-maker Land Rover and the TV show 24.
