Lexus IS300 C debuts in UAE without fanfare

Lexus IS C
Some have accused us of being behind in news. And they’d be right. We’d prefer to be first in local automotive news, but are constantly left out of the loop by the local offices of car companies because, you know, no one uses the internet to look at cars. Take, for instance, the Lexus IS 300 C. Apparently the convertible version of the IS 300 sedan has been launched in the UAE, while all the local magazines have already test-driven it. And here we are, just hearing about the GCC version for the first time in those very magazines.

From what we can gather through magazine reports, the 2010 Lexus IS 300 C that will ply the roads of Dubai and Abu Dhabi will have the same ho-hum 228 hp 3.0-litre V6 engine that powers the IS 300 sedan, mated to an automatic gearbox with vestigial paddle-shifters.

It comes with a folding metal hard-top, seating for two adults and two kids, and has the same interior design as the sedan.

The Lexus IS 300 C is base-priced at Dhs 190,000 in the UAE.
