BMW 760i 2010 released in Europe

2010 BMW 760i
The BMW 760i and 760iL has recently been revealed in Europe. It will be powered by a 6.0-litre V12 engine and like all the latest BMW engines, this too will also have twin-turbochargers, therefore producing 544 hp and 750 Nm of torque.

Like the other turbo BMW models, maximum torque peaks as early at 1500 rpm and maximum power releases at 5000 rpm. Gone will be the days of BMW’s high-revving engines soon, as thanks to turbochargers, higher horsepower and torque ratings are achieved with improved fuel-efficiency. Powered by 6.0 litre alumunium block engine with high precision fuel injection and double VANOS system, the 760i acceleration to 100 kph comes in just 4.6 seconds, with average fuel consumption at 12.9 litres/100 km, which is 4.5 percent more efficient than the previous model. Along with the new engine, the 8-speed transmission it comes with is also BMW’s first. Hopefully the numerous gear-shifts doesn’t end up to be a irritating sound note on the driver’s ear! The wheelbase extended by 14cm, increasing rear legroom and comfort.

The new 760i and 760iL models definitely have all the right ingredients in the performance department but overall their direct rivals, the Mercedes Benz S-Class seems to have both the looks and technology to overtake them in the luxury segment.

The 7-Series has always been popular in the UAE. Expect the GCC-spec models to be in Dubai and Abu Dhabi showrooms by the end of summer. To keep track of this upcoming model, visit the BMW 7-Series buyer guide.
