Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe 2010 in UAE
The new 2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupé will be available in showrooms across the the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman and Qatar from July this year, with various engine options.
While nothing remarkable to look at, the deceptive styling boasts a low Cd of 0.24, making it the world’s most aerodynamically efficient series-production car. Considering that the 2010 Porsche 911 GT3 has a Cd of 0.32, the E-Class Coupe is a breakthrough on that front.
The Coupé looks almost exactly the same as the new 2010 E-Class sedan from the front end, but gets different styling from the A-pillar onwards. There were reports that it actually shares more underpinnings with the smaller C-Class than the larger E-Class sedan.
Special features include selective damper control, drowsiness detection and preventive occupant protection. The Dynamic Driving package allows different suspension setups at the touch of a button. Adaptive Main Beam Assist, and an automatic emergency braking system are also available.
The new E-Class Coupe will initially be available in two versions, namely the E 350 with a 272 hp 3.5-litre V6, and the E 500 with a 388 hp 5.5-litre engine.
New direct-injection petrol engines will be available later. They are the E 250 CGI in September 2009 and the E 200 CGI in March 2010.
An AMG Sports package, with different bumpers, 18-inch AMG light-alloy wheels, stiffer “AGILITY CONTROL” sports suspension, and better brake discs at the front, is also available as an option.
Initial prices for the new E-Class Coupe with a GCC specification that includes panoramic sunroof, climate-controlled front seats, media interface and Command with satellite navigation, start at Dhs 231,000 for the E 350, with the E 500 at Dhs 295,000. The E 250 CGI that arrives in September will start at Dhs 202,000.
