Mercedes Benz reveals CLS Shooting Break concept

Mercedes Benz is planning to release the next generation CLS soon. Until then, the Mercedes Benz Shooting Break Concept has been revealed, to give an idea of the design cues it will sport.

The quasi-wagon will no doubt be compared against the recently-released BMW 5-Series GT, but is unlikely to go into production, unless the German firm pulls a surprise.

A new engine is going to be provided for this model, a 3.5-litre V6 producing 306 hp and 370 Nm of torque. It will be more fuel efficient than their previous engines.

The exterior follows the ‘four-door coupe’ design of a low sloping roof-line with small windows. The front design also has lot of design cues from the SLS AMG. The front grille, for the first time in a Mercedes Benz, is not integrated with the bonnet. It also gets a full panaromic roof. Full LED headlamps and tail-lights are installed on this model. A twin exhaust system with polished exhaust covers are integrated into the rear bumper. A curved spoiler is also added. It gets five-spoke 20-inch alloy rims wrapped with 255/30 tyres in the front, and the rear gets 285/25 tyres.

The Mercedes Benz Shooting Break is a four-seater. The interior consists of lot of wood and leather everywhere. It features a long centre console extending all the way to the back. The luggage space has a wooden floor to reflect the “true interpretation of this area of the vehicle”.
