Mercedes-Benz CLS 2012 by Carlsson

Even before the next-generation 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS has been released, German-based tuner company Carlsson has revealed their own upgraded version, if only as photoshopped images.

The Carlsson CLS gets new front and rear bumpers, with side-skirts as well. Behind, the rear bumper has a built-in diffuser kit which surrounds the new exhaust system, sporting a stainless-steel rear silencer and double oval tailpipes. A choice of 19-inch or 20-inch rims is offered, designed by Carlsson. A new suspension lowers the car 30 mm from the original spec. The interior upgrades include an Alcantara steering wheel and the pedals get some brushed aluminium.

Engine upgrade on the petrol unit is modest to say the least with the CLS 350 CGI getting a horsepower upgrade from 302 hp to 328 hp and 370Nm of torque, helping it achieve 0-100 kph in 5.9 seconds, 0.2 seconds faster than the standard model. The diesel unit from the CLS 350 CDI gets a horsepower bump from 261 hp to 316 hp and torque goes up from 650 Nm to 780 Nm. This helps it achieve 0-100 kph in also 5.9 seconds, making it 0.3 seconds quicker than the original model.

Expect to see the stock 2012 Mercedes Benz CLS-Class on the roads of the UAE, Saudi Arabia and other GCC countries by the middle of next year.

Keep track of updates in the Mercedes Benz CLS-Class buyer guide.

  1. 0.3 second quicker wowwwwwwwww thats a huge time:O lol

  2. Practically 0.3secs make quiet a good difference.

  3. Why on earth would you buy a tuned CLS, even if the tuner is so professional like Carlsson.

I mean it won’t feel like its “original”. It will feel like fake, just like having a tuned NISSAN Skyline.

And the performance is just a boost from Carlsson, not Benz. It just does not feel right. But I admit, it is better, but I will never buy it. I will go for the original CLS AMG from Mercedes – “if I can afford” -, and stick to their design, and performance, as this is what this car is supposed to be.

  4. better to get a mustang :S

  5. Pointless additions.. This car is good as it is..
