BMW X3 2011 released in UAE and Middle East

BMW has launched the new X3 in the Middle East. The 2011 BMW X3 has a completely new interior and exterior. It will also get new engines.

The exterior, which is a definite improvement from the previous generation X3, has been designed to look more from the new X family, which constitutes the X5 and X6. The interior gets a new dashboard and new gadgets, including a huge 8.8-inch screen. Features include heads-up display with new BMW night vision, active and passive warning systems such as the lane change and lane departure warnings. In addition, the new BMW X3 also comes with a parking assistant, an optional feature that facilitates the process of parking, cruise control, and surround-view cameras.

There is also an option for owners to connect their BlackBerry smart phones to gain access to their mobile phone’s e-mails, contact lists, messages and calendar entries which can be shown on the control display and read out via the optional voice output.  In addition, Bluetooth Audio Streaming enables the driver to listen to music from an audio player or mobile phone without the need for a cable.

Two new engines will be introduced for the 2011 BMW X3. One is for the XDrive28i, which will have the naturally aspirated 3.0-litre in-line six cylinder engine. This produces about 258 hp and 310 Nm of torque. The next is the turbocharged 3.0-litre in-line six cylinder engine for the XDrive35i, which produces 306 hp and 400 Nm of torque, which propels the X3 from 0-100 kph in 5.7 seconds. All the power is transmitted through their new 8-speed automatic transmission. Fuel efficiency for the XDrive28i is said to be 9.0 litres/100 km and the XDrive35i betters it with 8.8 litres/100 km.

The new X3 is already in showrooms in the UAE, Saudi Arabia and other GCC countries.

  1. rear is better than the old one..
    front is outdated…
    overpriced
    it’s a lady car afterall..

but still, it won’t succeed here… it will die like th 5-series GT..

    • I don’t think so man … The last X3 failed to sell in the Middle East because it was very ugly inside and out, and overpriced for what it gives.

But here, things have changed. Its now the best looking in its class … Look at the Q5 and the Tiguan … and have a great TwinPower Inline 6 engine!

  2. So………it only connects to blackberrys not iphones !!!

    • Nothing works to iPhones. Ford, though, mentioned something about the next-gen SYNC working with Apple’s restricted product.

  3. Wonderful … This is much better than the crappy Audi Q5, and the ugly looking 2012 facelifted VW Tiguan.

Nice interior … Amazing 3.0 Inline 6 TwinPower Engine. I tested it on the 335i … and it looks sporty as well … Thanks to BMW details … They never get it wrong … Its always recognized as a BMW … I love you my X5 … So much …
