Ford Taurus 2013 facelift already unveiled

The “new” Ford Taurus was just launched last year as a 2010 model, but the American carmaker is already showing a facelifted 2013 model at the 2011 New York Auto Show, with new engines and cabin tech.

The 2013 Ford Taurus will come with a choice of a new 237 hp 2.0-litre turbocharged “EcoBoost” 4-cylinder or an upgraded 290 hp 3.5-litre V6. The sporting SHO model will continue with a 365 hp 3.5-litre “EcoBoost” V6.

Other new features include a redesigned front end, LED tail lamps and an updated interior that includes new MyTouch SYNC tech, including the excellent screens within the gauge cluster and the counter-intuitive touch buttons for the a/c.

Expect the new Taurus to reach showrooms in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and other GCC countries by early 2012, although the model may soldier on in the Middle East with only one V6 engine choice. The anticipated SHO model still hasn’t come here.

Keep track of updates in the Ford Taurus buyer guide.

  1. Very little chance the Taurus will be here in early 2012. The 2010 model which was in the US by mid 2009 only came here around 12 months back.
So if they start the new Taurus by Spring 2012 in the USA, it will be here by late 2012 at the earliest

  2. Finally, they start introducing Eco-boost engines below the V6. Does that mean, we will get an Eco-boosted Ford Focus soon, here? They definitely should introduce both the models here, ( 2litre and 3.5 litre, if they want to pick up sales.) Competitively priced Fords should interest alot of people.

  3. Great engine choices hope we get the same, this thing is going to below maxima for sure….
    good looking also

    Ford is the future

  4. I doubt the 2 litre will come out. This place loves engines that drink petrol…
