Honda City 2014-2015 world debut in India

2014 Honda City
It is interesting that Honda has chosen India to launch the all-new version of the subcompact Honda City, which pretty much sums up their target market. The new model literally debuted just hours ago at a media event in New Delhi.

The 2014 Honda City looks more like an evolution of the outgoing model rather than a true redesign. The wheelbase has been extended by 50 mm, while height has gone up by 15 mm. Available features include a touchscreen interface, Bluetooth, rearview camera, keyless start, sunroof and a multifunctional steering wheel, among other things.

India gets a choice of 1.5-litre 4-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. According to early reports, the petrol version seems to be just a carryover 118 hp unit that powers the current model.

Expect the new Honda City to reach UAE, Saudi and other GCC markets by sometime after summer next year as a 2015 model.

Keep track of updates and prices in the Honda buyer guide.

Comments

  1. I wouldn’t call the new City ‘ugly’!! I like the new rear.

  2. The Honda City is getting better every year with its design and options. It certainly beat the crap out of Civic in that department. Only down I see in this vehicle at the moment is the age old engines/power.

  3. Honda on the attack!!!
    City,Jazz,Vezel

  4. Hondas are getting beautiful year by year

  5. I really do not understand why Honda is very much attached with BMW, every new model they release has some resemblance with BMW. In this case I’d like to appreciate Toyota for their original designs.
