Top new features of the 2025 Toyota Camry

The all-new 2025 Toyota Camry was recently launched in the UAE and the GCC, and the new design certainly caught people’s attention. We take a closer look at the best features the new Camry offers.

Toyota Camry Hybrid Engine

Unlike the North American market, Toyota still offers a petrol-only engine carried over from the previous model.

What has changed is the hybrid engine on offer, which now has a bit more power. The new fifth-generation Toyota Hybrid System (THS 5) uses a 2.5-litre engine coupled with an electric motor that produces about 227 hp and 221 Nm of torque.

The new system has also tweaked the electric motor to provide better acceleration. The fuel economy is about the same as that of the previous generation, which is about 27 km/litre.

There are no more V6 variants for the new Toyota Camry.

Design

Toyota decided to make the new Camry look more sporty and aggressive. The sharper front fascia and the standard sleek LED headlamps and fog lamps flanking a rather large front grille give the new Camry more presence.

While the exterior resembles the previous generation, the interior has an entirely new layout.

Maybe some customers will appreciate that it still has a gear lever, which you need to use to shift from ‘Park’ to ‘Neutral’, ‘Reverse’, or ‘Drive’ instead of using a rotary dial or buttons.

Infotainment

The ninth-generation Camry has a much better infotainment system. While the base model has an 8-inch screen, the higher trims have a bigger 12.3-inch screen with a faster processor and better graphics than its predecessor.

Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are now standard, while 5 USB ports are also available for front and rear passengers.

The top trim also gets a fully customisable digital cluster. Drivers can choose what information to display on the screen’s left, right, and centre.

The top Camry trim has many new safety features. It is equipped with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 (TSS 3.0), a suite that includes a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, dynamic cruise control, lane departure alert with steering assist, lane tracing assist, and automatic high beams.

All Camry trims come standard with front, side, and curtain airbags, a rearview camera, an emergency call system (E-Call), and the Toyota Connect App.

Thoughts

The Toyota Camry has been around for 42 years and continues to be a significant model for the brand. Compact SUVs may have caused the Camry’s retail sales to take a slight hit over recent years, but that doesn’t dull the fact that it is an excellent option for buyers looking for a reliable, practical, and comfortable commuter.

  5. I really like to buy this car, but the spec that is missing compared to US spec is very disappointing. Seat color options, dual color, heads up display, frony and rear bumper design , seat color and more is missing.

  19. Alternator sits too low on the engine like the Kia it will create belt problems and moisture build up in wet conditions for the alternator. Needs a better fog light design.

  20. I own a 2024 Camry SE XP edition…. The 2025’s are just ugly. I am so glad I bought when I did. Very disappointed with the new look.
