Jetour T2 Extended

Jetour T2 7-seater launched in Shanghai Motor Show

Jetour has unveiled an extended 7-seater version of its Jetour T2 SUV in China at the Shanghai Motor Show, now available in both petrol and plug-in hybrid variants. Dubbed the Jetour T2 Extended or T2 Plus, depending on the market, the new model offers more space and practicality while retaining the core features of the standard T2.

Larger dimensions, same wheelbase

The most significant update lies in the body size. While the wheelbase remains unchanged at 2,800 mm, the overall length has been increased by 249 mm to reach 5,034 mm. The width (1,966 mm) and height (1,880 mm) are unchanged, but the extra length extends the rear overhang, visually altering the SUV’s proportions.

The ground clearance differs slightly based on the powertrain:

  • 220 mm for the petrol version

  • 201-205 mm for the hybrid, due to the underfloor battery

The approach and departure angles are 28° and 23°, respectively, while the towing capacity is rated at 1,600 kg across all variants. The fuel tank holds 70 litres in the combustion version.

Jetour T2 third row and cargo space

Inside, Jetour has added a third row of seats, making the T2 Extended a more family-friendly SUV. The third-row bench is best suited for children or short journeys and can be folded down to create a larger luggage compartment.

When both the second and third rows are folded, the maximum cargo capacity reaches 1,653 litres. The boot also includes handy built-in handles for holding thermoses or small gear. The dashboard and front cabin layout remain the same as the standard Jetour T2.

Petrol: 2.0L turbo with AWD

The petrol-powered T2 Extended is equipped with a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, producing 254 hp and 390 Nm of torque. Power is sent through an 8-speed automatic transmission with a hydrodynamic torque converter.

All-wheel drive is delivered via an electronically controlled multi-plate clutch system, which activates the rear axle when needed. Top speed is rated at 190 km/h.

Hybrid: Two variants with FWD or AWD

Jetour offers two plug-in hybrid variants for the T2 Extended:

  • Base Hybrid (FWD)
This version combines a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine (156 hp / 220 Nm) with an electric motor delivering 224 hp and 390 Nm. The powertrain is integrated into a three-speed hybrid automatic transmission.
It uses a 26.7 kWh battery, enabling a pure electric range of up to 120 km (CLTC).
    Top speed: 203 km/h.

  • Full Hybrid (AWD)
This top-spec version adds a rear-mounted electric motor, raising the total system output to 462 hp and 700 Nm.
It features a larger 43.24 kWh battery, providing up to 206 km of electric-only range.
    Top speed: 200 km/h.

Jetour T2 Extended Availability

The Jetour T2 Extended is currently on sale in China, with no official word yet on international availability. Given Jetour’s growing presence in the Middle East, including the UAE and Saudi Arabia, there is a possibility that the model could arrive in the region in the near future.
