Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut Smashes 0–400–0 km/h World Record Again
Koenigsegg has once again raised the bar for production car performance, reclaiming the coveted 0–400–0 kph world record for homologated road cars. The run took place on August 7, 2025, at Örebro Airfield in Sweden, with factory test driver Markus Lundh behind the wheel of the Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut.
The new record time — 25.21 seconds — not only surpasses the company’s own benchmark from June 2024 (27.83 seconds) but also beats every other competitor. The achievement was made possible through software refinements, dubbed “Absolut Overdrive”, applied to the very same car used in last year’s record run. These updates will be rolled out to all customer Jesko Absolut models, giving owners access to the same performance benefits.
Sub-Optimal Conditions
The run wasn’t without challenges. Lundh had to contend with a damp and drying tarmac following earlier rainfall, making traction management critical. Despite this, the Jesko Absolut’s twin-turbocharged 5.0-litre V8, ultra-low drag coefficient, and advanced traction control worked in perfect harmony to deliver record-breaking performance.
The verified figures:
-
0–400–0 km/h: 25.21 seconds
-
0–400 km/h: 16.77 seconds
-
400–0 km/h: 8.44 seconds
-
0–250–0 mph: 25.67 seconds
-
0–250 mph: 17.18 seconds
-
250–0 mph: 8.49 seconds

Koenigsegg attributes the improvement to updates in the Light Speed Transmission and Engine Management System, alongside a new torque control strategy that optimises grip.
“That we achieve this with a rear-wheel-drive, combustion-engine production car — outperforming all four-wheel-drive electric hypercars in a straight line — is almost magical,” said Christian von Koenigsegg, Founder and CEO.

The record was independently verified using industry-standard Racelogic equipment, with the data confirmed by Racelogic themselves.
