AGMC appointed official Lotus distributor in the UAE
AGMC has signed an agreement with Lotus Cars to become the official distributor for the British performance brand in the United Arab Emirates.
The agreement was signed in Dubai on 24 June 2026 and marks a new phase for Lotus in the UAE, as the brand continues its shift from a traditional sports car manufacturer into a global luxury mobility company.
Under the partnership, AGMC will handle Lotus sales, aftersales and customer experience operations across the UAE. The move will give Lotus customers access to the brand’s expanding line-up of performance and luxury vehicles, supported by AGMC’s local infrastructure and aftersales network.
New Lotus showrooms planned
As part of the agreement, three new Lotus AGMC sales facilities are planned for Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah. Two aftersales facilities will also be developed in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
The expanded network is expected to improve Lotus’ sales and service coverage across the UAE, giving the brand a wider footprint in one of the region’s key luxury car markets.
Lotus expands beyond sports cars
Founded in 1948 by Colin Chapman, Lotus built its reputation on lightweight engineering, aerodynamics and driver-focused sports cars. The company is now expanding its product strategy with a broader luxury performance line-up.

The UAE range will include models such as the Lotus Emira sports car, the upcoming Lotus Eletre X SUV with Super Hybrid technology, and the Emeya hyper-GT.
Lotus says its Focus 2030 strategy will continue to place the brand’s core values of low weight, aerodynamics, engineering and driver engagement at the centre of its future models.

AGMC strengthens premium portfolio
AGMC, part of Albatha Group, said the addition of Lotus supports its continued growth as a multi-brand automotive group in the UAE.
Dr. Andreas Schaaf, Group Director at Albatha Group, said Lotus is one of the most respected names in automotive history, adding that AGMC aims to build the brand locally and deliver a strong customer experience in the UAE.
Lotus Group CEO Qingfeng Feng said the UAE is a strategically important market for the brand’s Middle East growth plans. He added that AGMC’s experience in the premium automotive sector made it a suitable partner for Lotus as the brand enters its next phase in the region.
AGMC has been operating in the UAE since 1976 and is best known as the importer for BMW Group vehicles and Motorrad in Dubai, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates. The company has also expanded its portfolio in recent years with brands such as Geely.
The addition of Lotus further strengthens AGMC’s position in the premium and luxury automotive market in the UAE.
