Depending on your views, Porsche either keeps launching a lot of new models, or they rarely launch new models. That’s based on whether you think every single variant of the 911 debuting like clockwork every few months is a new model, or whether you consider an entirely new vehicle line to be a new model. We are in the latter camp, and we were interested to see what Porsche had cooked up for the compact crossover segment, with the all-new Macan.
Italian carmaker Maserati is eager to take a bigger share of the luxury car market, especially with the addition of several new models in just the last two years. Recently Maserati held a media drive event in Dubai to highlight their latest addition, the midsize Ghibli sedan. But they also brought along some of their other models as well, so we got our first look at the Maserati GranCabrio MC and the Quattroporte GTS as well.

A luxury car show is running at the Dubai International Financial Centre this week. Dubbed MotorVillage, it will run till April 3rd, and seems to partially be a direct-sales platform than strictly an auto show.
Porsche is extending the GTS principle to the Boxster and Cayman for the first time ever. Featuring upgraded engines and adaptive chassis, the Boxster GTS and Cayman GTS stand as the most powerful and fastest iteration of these mid-engine sports models from Porsche.
Initially thought to be sitting between McLaren’s MP4-12C and P1 models, the 650S is the small British carmaker’s latest offering. Unveiled at the 2014 Geneva Auto Show, word now is that it may be replacing the awkwardly-named MP4-12C, considering it really is just a 12C with a P1 face. The official word though, is that the 12C will continue to be sold alongside the pricier 650S for the time being.

Before you get all excited about the C-01, we want you to know that the new Lotus motorcycle isn’t actually a full-blown Lotus. Instead it’s a joint venture between German racing firm Kodewa and the tuners from Holzer Group. But, yes, as the name indicates, they have been granted license to produce the motorcycles in the renowned sports car makers name.
If you remember, we had gone to Italy last month to drive a couple of cars, including the Fiat 500L and the Alfa Romeo 4C. We also drove the latest version of the Fiat 500 Cult, a new trim level with a new engine and a manual gearbox, before it was even revealed at the Geneva Motor Show last week. We’d never driven a 500 before that, but damn is it good with the Euro-spec hardware.
