This may be old news, but it is worth pointing out that the long-running Toyota Land Cruiser Pickup, globally known as the LC75, has been given a new V6 engine for 2010, ditching the old inline-6 that has been a long-standing favourite of ghetto tuners in Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Now codenamed the LC79, this is the latest attempt to domesticate the aging original Land Cruiser Pickup, after a frontal facelift in 2008 flattened the original flared-fender design that dated back to the 1960s.

Lincoln, Ford’s oft-forgotten luxury division, displayed their latest models at the 2010 Abu Dhabi Motor Show at the Ford stand itself. While the focus is on the MKX this year, Lincoln also quietly launched the 2011 MKT crossover in the GCC, essentially a completely-redone version of the Ford Flex.
Abu Dhabi International Motor Show (ADIMS) 2010 closed its doors on Saturday having reported a successful five days for both exhibitors and visitors. The show, which provided some 20 Middle East and UAE car premiers from over 60 exhibitors, also featured a wide range of activities for all the family at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).

Lexus is doing something completely out of character in this region by going ahead and launching the first hybrid hatchback in the UAE, at the 2010 Abu Dhabi Motor Show. The CT 200h, originally designed for the European market, will become the cheapest hybrid car to be sold in the UAE, undercutting various manufacturers who have only been bringing in ridiculously-priced high-end models here.

In a show that was missing a large number of major brands, there was an equally good number of new model launches for the UAE, including the Lexus CT 200h, the Lexus LFA, the Toyota Zelas, the Chevrolet Camaro Convertible, the facelifted Chevrolet Captiva, the new GMC Terrain, the GMC Acadia Denali, the Cadillac XTS concept, the new Hyundai Accent, the Subaru Impreza Outback, the Lincoln MKT, the Range Rover Evoque and the Mazda Kazamai concept, among others. Toyota’s UAE dealer launched the 2011 Scion tC at the 2010 Abu Dhabi Motor Show, only, it will be known as the Toyota Zelas in the GCC, and will come standard with an aggressive body kit.
The 2010 Abu Dhabi International Motor Show is nearing its opening date. Set to run from the 7th to the 11th of December at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, it will be open to the public from 5 pm on the first day. Various new cars will be launched for the first time at the show, with tickets costing Dhs 20.
General Motors Middle East has announced that they will be revealed three new 4×4 models at the 2010 Abu Dhabi Motor Show, namely the 2011 GMC Acadia Denali trim package, the all-new 2011 GMC Terrain, and the facelifted 2011 Chevrolet Captiva.
