The Honda Urban SUV Concept made its debut at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, apparently hinting at the Japanese automaker’s future new crossover offering that will slot in below the CR-V in terms of size and price.
Honda has revealed some new models that they plan to release in the near future at the 2013 Tokyo Auto Salon. Ironically, one of the “concept” cars to be displayed includes a Honda S2000 with a daft body kit, which originally stopped production in 2008.
After few exterior images made its way out in the press, the 2013 Honda Civic was revealed officially at the Los Angeles International Auto Show. So if you thought that the crazy automobile recall saga had ended, you were wrong. Since our last post on the recalls earlier this year, there were an insane amount of recalls that followed, from almost every car manufacturer in the world you can ever think of, almost all of them being issued following instructions from the U.S.-based NHTSA agency. And we could not bother to post each recall issue as a separate story, the task being as equally tedious as the reader-response to these. Here are all the recalls that could potentially be relevant to our region since April 2012.
This one was a long time coming. Sure, everybody else is busy comparing the Toyota 86 to everything from the VW Scirocco to the Hyundai Genesis Coupe. But aside from the Mazda MX-5, there was only one other car that’s similar to the 86 in recent history, and it’s the Honda S2000. It ceased production only 3 years ago, so it is still possible to buy one on the used market. And whadaya know, we actually own one in our fleet. And our car also happens to be one of the lowest-mileage S2000s in the world. This was going to be interesting.
As one of the most successful cars of all time, Honda’s designers surely have gone through a dangerous phase designing the new Accord, not only because there is pressure from past and current owners who expect to be impressed, but because there are a whole slew of new buyers the automaker is looking to impress. But, with that in mind, the newly-designed Honda Accord is no disappointment.
Let’s get it straight right off the bat that we aren’t equipped to do conclusive tests on tyres. Everybody has their own opinions on which brand is better or worse, but most of them are just hearsay and conjecture. We’ve always had an open mind about tyre brands, which is why we’ve used everything from Made-in-Germany to Made-in-China rubbers, depending on the car, none of which really failed us. So when Bridgstone approached us to try out their all-new Potenza S001 flagship tyres on our Honda S2000, we were wondering how we’ll compare it to what we already had on.
