With a couple of recalls accounting up to more than a million vehicles each, the month of October did have some impact on the car industry.
The all-new Jeep Wrangler, codenamed JL, has officially been launched in the Middle East and we got a first-hand experience of its capabilities in an event in Spielberg, Austria. The Wrangler, synonym to off-roading prowess, has improved from the outgoing Wrangler JK, which has been around a solid 11 years.
Trading Enterprises, the official distributor of Jeep in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, temporarily built a custom off-road track at Dubai Festival City that gave Jeep owners a chance to safely experience the capabilities of their vehicles.
First photos of the all-new 2018 Jeep Wrangler were revealed at the SEMA 2017 aftermarket show in Las Vegas last week, alongside a live reveal of all the actual Mopar accessories that will be available as soon as the new model goes on sale sometime next year.
The Jeep Wrangler pickup has been a hot topic for years, as fanboys wonder whether Chrysler would build one or not. There have been expensive kits and aftermarket conversions, and while the current rumours say a factory version is indeed on the way, there is now a much cheaper kit to make a Jeep pickup of sorts.
Jeep unveiled seven new concepts at the 2015 Moab Easter Jeep Safari. The Easter Jeep Safari is an annual event held in Michigan, US attended by thousands of off-road enthusiasts, who each year enjoy a week of serious off-roading on some of the country’s most rugged trails.
“I. Am. Invincible!!!!!” That’s what I was shouting when, yet again, we accepted an invitation to the annual Jeep Jamboree back in December, and came out of it alive and in one piece. This year’s event was murder, to the point where about 99% of the participants came in with just Wranglers, whereas previous events have had a mix of Cherokees and Grand Cherokees as well. The course was that tough. And we were provided with a bone-stock 2015 Jeep Wrangler Sahara by the local dealer in Dubai.
At the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee launch a couple of months ago in Dubai, we came across the Jeep Wrangler Renegade and the Jeep Wrangler Pickup models offered by the UAE dealer. The two unique models, modified by the dealer using original Mopar parts, have been on sale since the beginning of this year, if not longer, but this is the first time we got an up-close look at them.
We snagged an invite to the 2013 edition of Jeep Jamboree Dubai in early January, a dealer-organised event open to all Jeep owners in the country. We went to the Jamboree a year go as well, all of it a desert drive with a dealer-provided five-door Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, so we figured this year would be the same. But they threw a few surprises at us in the form of a mixed wadi-desert combination, that too with a smaller three-door Jeep Wrangler.
Ok, we have seen a lot of weird modifications done on cars. But this has to be right there on the deep end. What’s the mod? Two Jeep Wranglers merged into one!
